Lydia Kang Author Interview

Lydia Kang

Author of: CONTROL

Release date: December 26th, 2013

Lydia Kang was a blast to talk with. I seriously had no idea what to expect. After all she admits to being a mix of all things responsible and irresponsible, but what I discovered is she’s a perfect balance of all things human.

Mindy McGinnis Author Interview

Mindy McGinnis

Release date: September 24th, 2013

Mindy is one fun lady and it was a blast getting to know her better. Mindy grew up in the woods, and had a deep desire to see if she could survive out there on her own if the situation ever presented itself. That never happened, and the introduction of the internet has quelled that urge.

She loves being a writer, because it’s the only occupation where you can legitimately stare into space and claim to be working.

Write with a Scent

I’m excited to be adding another idiosyncrasy to my writing habits. No I’m not going to wear the same underwear for six months…although I haven’t tried that…no, no that’s a health hazard. This is a fun and enticing one. I bought a candle. This candle will only be burning while I’m working on the sequel to my Charlotte Kane trilogy. The thought behind this is that smell, more than any other sense, is deeply rooted in memory. It’s like a wormhole to our past.

Ryan Graudin Interview

Ryan Graudin

Release date: February 11, 2014

I’m excited to announce a new series that will be on my blog focusing on debut authors with release dates that are on the horizon. The idea is to get to know these authors a little more personally and to promote their fantastical books that I can’t wait to get my hands on. So…without further interruptions I’m so excited to have interviewed the fabulous Ryan Graudin.

A Writer's Creative Flow

Intense editing has blocked my flow. Blah! My last manuscript flowed from my fingers like melted butter. Of course, after the story is finished comes the editing…and editing…oh and did I mention EDITING? So I went from spewing sentences, not paying attention if I used the same words too close to each other, sometimes telling instead of showing… to rereading the manuscript multiple times and focusing on every word like I was mining for gems. Does it earn its space? Is this truly what this character would say or feel?

Path to Patience

Crazy, beautiful life. How many turns in the road have you passed and later wondered…what if? You’re not alone. I used to think about this much more often, especially before the birth of my son in December of 2010. Now all of those paths that made me wonder where could I be? What kind of life would I be leading if I hadn’t been young and dumb?… Well it doesn’t matter; it led me to this, exactly where I should be. I wouldn’t take back any scrapes, any bruises or any moments where my heart felt broken. It’s like we’re a patchwork quilt, pieced together.

Paranormal Inspiration

I’m going to start with what sparked my curiosity in the paranormal. In time this interest led me to write the Charlotte Kane Trilogy.

I am not a psychic, medium, or clairvoyant. I feel like I’m a normal girl who had an extraordinary experience and I owe it all to a friend that was more a sister.
